Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-charge) stated that SCR is scaling new heights of performance with enthusiastic and committed efforts of the team members during the financial year 2021-2022. The General Manager addressed a gathering of Railway officers and staff at the 67th Railway Week Celebrations held today i.e., 20th April, 2022 at Rail Kalarang, Boiguda, Secunderabad. The Principal Heads of the Departments and Divisional Railway Managers also participated in the program. Railway week celebrations are held annually during the month of April to commemorate the first train run on 16th April, 1853 on Indian soil.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Arun Kumar Jain stated that the Zone has registered gross earnings of Rs. 14,265 crore in the financial year 2021-22, a whopping 44% growth as compared to the previous year. The calibrated approach of the zone towards resumption of train services has given rich dividends with the number of passengers again crossing 100 million and passenger earnings growing by 205% to Rs. 2,975 crores. The zone registered one of its highest freight loading of 117.8 Million Tonnes (MTs) and freight revenue of Rs. 12,317 crores. It is also worth mentioning that the zone has achieved its best-ever parcel revenue of Rs. 206 crores. The General Manager added that the indigenously developed Automatic train protection system namely KAVACH has been deployed for 859 Kms stretch. Further, a record 344 Kms track has been added to the SCR Rail network. Mission electrification got a major boost in the year 2021-22 with SCR achieving its best-ever performance by completing 770 Rkms of electrification work.
The General Manager said that welfare of staff and their families has always been a priority of the zone. As part of the same, special measures were undertaken to meet the healthcare needs of the staff during the challenging pandemic period. Covid care centers were set up at 5 hospitals across the zone and vaccination drives were undertaken on a massive scale to protect the employees against the adverse effects of Covid.
GM’s Over All Best Performance Efficiency Shield Presented to Secunderabad and Nanded Divisions jointly.
The General Manager’s Over All Best Performance Shield was presented to Secunderabad and Nanded Divisions jointly by Shri Arun Kumar Jain. The Shield was received by Shri A.K Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and Shri Upinder Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Nanded Division.
The General Manager also presented 35 other Zonal Level Efficiency Shields to various Divisions and Work Shops of the zone.
Secunderabad Division: Received GM’s Shield For Rajbasha (Jointly), Best Utilization Of Track Machines, Best Track Shield, Best Maintained ART (Jointly), Best Diesel/Electric Loco Shed (ELS/KZJ), Survey And Construction Shield, Grievance Redressal Machinery Shield, Signal & Telecom Shield (Jointly), Mechanical Shield (Jointly), HRD (Personnel) Shield (Jointly), Commercial Shield, Operating Shield, Civil Engineering Shield And Medical Shield.
Hyderabad Division: Received Inter Divisional Shield For Cleanliness - Stations (Jointly), Best Maintained MRV (Jointly), Best Maintained Running Room, Best Division For Elimination Of Level Crossing (Jointly) And Works (Engg) Shield.
Vijayawada Division: Received Best Energy Efficiency & Conservation Shield, Best Maintained MRV (Jointly), Best Maintained DEMU/MEMU/EMU Shed, Environmental & Housekeeping Shield, Security Shield, Signal & Telecom Shield (Jointly) And Electrical Shield.
Guntakal Division: Received Best School Railway High School/EM/GTL), Best Maintained ART (Jointly), Scrap Disposal Shield, Best Maintained Long Distance Train, Mechanical Shield (Jointly), HRD (Personnel) Shield (Jointly), And Bridges (Engg) Shield And Best Innovation Shield.

During The 67th Railway Week Celebrations 171 Individual Awards And 12 Group Awards Were Also Presented To The Officers And Staff In Recognition Of Their Meritorious Contribution.
