PR No. 806 - RPF, SOUTH CENTRAL RAILWAY PERFORMANCE DURING THE YEAR -2022 LIVES OF 52 PERSONS SAVED BY RPF PERSONNEL AS A PART OF JEEVAN RAKSHA




Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, South Central Railway saved 52 (23 Female & 29 Male) lives during the Year- 2022 as a part of 'Mission Jeevan Rakshak'.

RPF jawans are always in the forefront and at times even risking their own lives to safeguard not o­nly the railway property, but the lives of passengers with the help of o­n-duty railway staff. RPF jawans face diverse security challenges such as crime against passengers and railway property, extremist violence, obstruction to train movement, rescuing missing children and seizing narcotics in trains and railway premises, retrieving passengers' luggage. Amidst all, they keep a close watch o­n the safety of passengers.

The alert RPF, in most of the cases saved the lives of passengers who were negligent or faced danger while boarding or alighting running trains. Some were also saved while they were attempting suicide.

46 CHILDREN HAVE BEEN RESCUED FROM THE CLUTCHES OF THE TRAFFICKERS BY ARRESTING 08 TRAFFICKERS UNDER “OPERATION AAHT”:

Human Trafficking: 46 (34 boys + 12 Girls) children rescued from traffickers in 14 instances duly arresting 08 traffickers during the year-2022.

CASES DETECTED THROUGH CCTV FOOTAG: 48 persons were identified through CCTV footage and arrested with the recovery of stolen property worth Rs. 97,07,130/- during the year- 2022.

RECOVERED LEFT OVER AND LEFT BEHIND LUGGAGES OF TRAVEL PASSENGERS WORTH RS.4.99 CRORES UNDER “OPERATION AMANAT”:

RPF personnel provided help in securing left over passenger belongings and handed over them to rightful owners. RPF retrieved more than 2060 belongings of passengers valued more than 4.99 Crores during the year- 2022

RPF RECOVERS NARCOTIC PRODUCTS VALUED MORE THAN RS.8.26 CRORES WITH THE ARREST OF 78 PERSONS UNDER “OPERATION NARCOS”:

Curbing of Narcos smuggling: RPF is determine to curb narcotic smuggling through Railways. During the year 2022, confiscated Ganja valued more than Rs.8.26 crores with arrest of 78 persons.

ARRESTED 448 OFFENDERS WITH RECOVERY OF STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER “OPERATION YATRISURAKSHA”:

During the year 2022, 448 persons were apprehended with recovery of stolen property worth Rs. 4.43 crores.

GOOD DETECTIONS DURING THE YEAR 2022:

On 21.02.22, o­n receipt of information about drugging incident, RPF swung into action and arrested 05 involved in the incident with recovery of entire stolen property Rs.2.43 lakh with the help of CCTV feed. o­n 31.08.2022, in response to Railmadad regarding theft of gold ornaments and mobile. Immediately human intelligence has worked out the case and apprehended the accused with recovery of entire stolen property Rs.1.44 lakhs.
