Seven SCR Personnel bestowed with Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar- 2023 at National Level

- These awards will be presented o­n 15th December, 2023

in New Delhi at the hands of Hon’ble Railway Minister

South Central Railway workforce has made its mark o­nce again at National Level by securing seven awards and they will be bestowed with “Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar - 2023”. These awards will be presented at the National Level function to be held at New Delhi o­n 15th December, 2023 at the hands of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Railway Minister.


The details of the seven employees who secured awards are as follows -


1.Shri D.S Rama Rao, Deputy Chief Engineer, Construction, Kazipet, South Central Railway.


He is instrumental in commissioning third line works in different sections between Kazipet - Balharshah wherein major remodelling of 9 yards was involved and 245 turnouts inserted/removed during Non-Interlocking working.He has also played key role in commissioning of 3rd line work between Kondapalli and North West Block Hut o­n Vijayawada - Kazipet section. o­ne important bridge No. 66 across Manair river was completed in a record time during his tenure. All the NI works of 3rd line were well planned by him and completed within minimum possible period duly relaxing caution orders and commissioned. With his dedication, hard work, meticulous planning and efficient working, the 3rdline critical sections could be commissioned as per the targets which are highest ever of third line commissioning in the history of South Central Railway.


  1. Ch. Dinesh Reddy, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer, Traction Rolling Stock, Electric Loco Shed, Vijayawada, South Central Railway


He is in-charge of Electric Loco Shed, Vijayawada. He laid emphasis o­n to improve safety and reliability of Locomotives, to ensure hassle free train operations. He Designed and implemented “Traction Motor Dropping Detection System (TMDDS)” in conventional locomotives. He was also instrumental in Fitment of “KAVACH” o­n-board equipment in WAP4 locomotives. He has played key role in smooth commissioning of 3 phase loco maintenance at Electric Loco Shed, Vijayawada.



  1. Shri Mallela Srikant, Divisional Operations Manager / Secunderabad / SCR (now DY. Director /Freight & Fertilizer / Railway Board).


He is instrumental in developing Digital transmission of train-events through mobile based platform with automated exception alerts via SMS. This has helped in tracking loading positions at sidings and also in real time monitoring of freight trains which helped in interchange of freight trains. He was also a part of team involved in developing Zero based time table o­n Indian Railway. He was also part of implementation of Artificial intelligence based camera system which helps in detecting defects of BOXN wagons. In addition, he is also part of the core team in facilitating movement of critical medicines and essential goods through rail. He also developed parcel fare calculator, co-developed the blue print for Rail Yatri Seva application.


4.Shri C Sivakumar Kashyap, Divisional Signal and Telecommunication Engineer, Secunderabad:


Shri C. Siva Kumar has made outstanding contribution towards the completion of KAVACH projects undertaken by South Central Railway. He has been instrumental in the deployment of KAVACH in more than 500 RKM in Hyderabad and Guntakal divisions of South Central Railway. He has also played a vital role in the deployment of direct EI-KAVACH interface that led to the quick deployment of KAVACH in 10 stations covering 100 RKM including auto section of 13 RKM. Further, he also took up and successfully completed the herculean task of alterations that arose in KAVACH in around 25 locations.

5.Smt T.Prathyusha Women Sub- Inspector, Railway Protection Force, Nizamabad :

She was instrumental in apprehension of 2 criminals in Murder case. She played key role in detection of o­ne murder case and o­ne rape case. She played an important role in detection of offender involved in human trafficking. She also apprehended o­ne offender involved in theft of passenger belongings and recovered the property valued Rs 1.25 lakhs.


6.Shri. T. Natarajan, Chief Ticket Inspector/Sr.DCM Squad/Secunderabad:


He has delivered an outstanding performance in Ticket Checking with his tireless and dedicated efforts. He made thorough checks and restricted ticketless and unauthorized travel. Secunderabad division has earned highest ever ticket checking earnings for the year 2022-23. Shri Natarajan has contributed by detecting 12021 cases and collected ₹1.1 Crores during January to December 2022. He has diffused many passenger complaints while o­n duty.


7.Shri. V.V.Rangaiah, Track maintainer Gr-I (Gateman), SSE/P.way/Bidar

While working as Gateman in Level Crossing No.60/E o­n 05.07.2022, o­ne DCM vehicle driver approached with high speed and dashed o­ne side gate and entered into gate and stopped at other end gate boom. The gateman immediately ran towards approaching train by showing red hand signal duly keeping banner flag o­n track. Due to his immediate alertness, the Loco Pilot applied breaks by seeing banner flag and minimized the effect of dashing with DCM van. Due to his prompt action he is awarded.


Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR congratulated all the awardees and conveyed his best wishes for gaining good recognition for the Zone. He stated that these type of awards boost the morale of the employees and also inspires the workforce to work hard.
