Vande Bharat Express Trains introduced over SCR Prove to be successful with more than 100% patronage

· Four Vande Bharat Express Trains that have been commenced from different stations of SCR have witnessed more than 100% patronage in December 2023

The huge popularity for Vande Bharat Express trains has attained a special credit across South Central Railway with all the four Vande Bharat Express trains introduced in South Central Railway in the year 2023 registering more than 100 % patronage in the month of December 2023. Adding value to this, o­ne more Vande Bharat Express has been introduced in SCR from Jalna to Mumbai CSMT and the regular run of this train starts from Mumbai today i.e., 1st January, 2024.The list of four Vande Bharat (VB) trains across SCR and their occupancy is as follows-

· Secunderabad - Visakhapatnam VB express with 16 coaches introduced in January, 2023 has been consistently operating with more than 100% occupancy. In December, 2023 the occupancy of Secunderabad - Visakhapatnam has been at 134%, while Visakhapatnam - Secunderabad Express is at 143%.

· Secunderabad - Tirupati VB express with 8 coaches introduced in April 2023 has also been consistently operated with full occupancy since its introduction. Owing to enormous response, the coaches have been enhanced to 16 coaches for this train from 17th May, 2023. The occupancy of Secunderabad - Tirupati Express in December, 2023 is 114%, while Tirupati - Secunderabad Express is at 105%.

· Kacheguda - Yesvantpur VB Express with 8 coaches introduced in September, 2023 has also gained popularity and the occupancy of the train is at 107% in December, 2023. In the return direction, Yesvantpur - Kacheguda Express occupancy is at 110%.

· Vijayawada - MGR Chennai VB Express with 8 coaches introduced in September, 2023 has gained special recognition by connecting Tirupati, the world famous pilgrim destination enroute. The occupancy of this train is registered as 126%, while MGR Chennai - Vijayawada Express is registered at 119%.

The Vande Bharat Express train has been very popular for their safe, secure and comfortable travel facility. This train offers a day journey with complete sitting AC accommodation in AC Chair Car and Executive Class coaches. The indigenously developed train has several world-class features like GPS based Passenger Information System, automatic sliding doors, reclining seats, CCTV cameras in all coaches, diffused LED lighting, charging points beneath every seat etc., which provide better riding comfort and more safety features.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway has expressed his utmost satisfaction for the fact that the Vande Bharat Express trains introduced across the South Central Railway zone have been running with full occupancy. He stated that this reflects the enormous popularity for this India’s indigenous semi-high speed train introduced in various routes all across the Zone. He also said that, meeting the demands of the rail passengers is the top priority of railways, and all efforts will be continued for meeting the aspirations of the rail passengers.
