Purchase of Unreserved tickets through ATVMs can now be made using R-wallet

-R-Wallet feature which was previously used in UTS mobile App is now extended for purchasing unreserved tickets through ATVMs.

-3% bonus will be applicable for purchasing tickets through R-Wallet in UTS mobile APP and ATVMs.

South Central Railway has been in forefront by envisaging digital technologies in Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) for the convenience of its rail users. UTS mobile App and Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) which have been introduced for purchasing unreserved tickets through digital means duly avoiding standing in the queues at Booking counters have gained popularity and are being extensively used by the Rail users. In addition to the existing features, R-wallet option which is present in UTS mobile App is now extended for purchase of unreserved tickets through Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs). Bonus of 3 % which is applicable for UTS mobile App is also now extended for purchasing tickets through ATVMS.

The UTS mobile app and the facility of ATVMS will immensely facilitate large section of rail users who travel daily in unreserved segment. It will be very useful in saving time during peak hours for purchase of tickets without standing in queues at counters. Digitization of Railway services has been a priority area of Indian Railways and it is being taken forward by the Zone with implementation of various digital avenues for the convenience of passengers. UTS mobile app is available o­n Google play Store for downloading o­n Android phones; iStore o­n iPhones; OVI Store o­n Windows phone. The users can create Railway Wallet (R-Wallet) in UTS App and avail 3% bonus o­n every recharge to the Wallet. The users can also opt for printed ticket by booking o­n the mobile app, which can be taken at the counters or ATVMs available at station premises o­n submission of the booking code along with mobile number. This facility will reduce rush at booking counters and is available across Indian Railways for both suburban and non-suburban services. In addition, rail users can purchase their tickets through Digital payment options at ATVMs installed near the general counters at all major railway stations.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR, in this regard, has stated that the measures being taken for the promotion of purchasing tickets through digital means have given good results. He appealed to the rail users in this context to utilise the facility of R -wallet applicable for UTS mobile APP and also at ATVMS to purchase their tickets in a comfortable and hassle-free manner.
