‘2047 - Viksit Bharat Viksit Railway’ Themed Competitions held across various Schools in 4 States

-A whopping number of 37,351 students from 269 schools participated in the competitions held in the 4 states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra in SCR Jurisdiction

The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi had envisioned ‘2047 - Viksit Bharat’ which represents the vision to transform India into a developed country by its 100th Independence in the year 2047. Railways’ being an essential sector plays a key role in the economic development of the Country. Accordingly, to promote the mission of ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Rail’ among the youth, South Central Railway has organized essay writing, painting and elocution competitions o­n the theme of ‘2047 - Viksit Bharat Viksit Railway’ at 269 schools across four States i.e., Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra in SCR jurisdiction. A whopping number of 37,351 students enthusiastically participated in the different competitions held.

In Telangana State, the Hyderabad Division of South Central Railway organized essay writing, elecocution and painting competitions at 60 schools in which 7,500 students participated and 351 students were selected as winners for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes. Secunderabad Division organized the competitions at 42 schools in which 5326 students participated and 126 were selected as winners in different categories.

In Andhra Pradesh State, Vijayawada Division of SCR held the competitions at 55 schools in which 11,235 students participated and 315 students were selected as winners. Guntur Division held the competition at 25 schools in which 3010 students participated and 207 were chosen as winners. Guntakal Division conducted the contests at 39 schools in AP & Karnataka States in SCR jurisdiction in which a total of 6780 students participated. In Maharashtra State, Nanded Division organized the contests at 48 schools, wherein 3,500 students participated and 432 were announced as winners.

In all the Schools, students evinced keen interest in the competitions and enthusiastically participated in them. The students expressed their idea of Viksit Railway in Viksit Bharat through their paintings, essays and elocution. It helped in capturing the creativity and vision of the students of how they perceive the various facets of Developed India and how Railways will be a part of it.

The winners will be awarded with certificate of appreciation / Mementos / Medals o­n 26th February, 2024 during the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s program pertaining to laying of foundation stone / inauguration / dedication of nearly 550 Amrit Bharat stations and nearly 1,500 Road Under Bridges and Road over Bridges across the Nation. The students will receive the prizes at the hands of dignitaries at various locations.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway appreciated the active precipitation shown by the students in being part of the essay writing, painting/drawing and elocution competitions held at 269 schools to encourage the vision of ‘2047 - Viksit Bharat Viksit Railway’ among the young generation. He commended the efforts of his team members in capturing the vision of the young minds.
