Strictly follow the Safety Procedures and Ensure Safety - Shri Arun Kumar Jain, GM/SCR

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway advised the staff and officials to strictly follow the safety procedures to ensure safety in train operations. A review meeting was held to discuss o­n the safety of train operations, punctuality and progress of various traffic facility works across the zone today i.e., 22nd March, 2024 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.

The General Manager instructed the officials to conduct frequent field inspections and counsel the safety related staff including the loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and guards etc., to strictly adhere to safety procedures to ensure the safe running of the trains. He reviewed the availability of fire prevention safety items like smoke detecting devices, Fire extinguishers etc., over the zone. He advised officials to ensure adequate stocks to meet any exigency. He also stressed o­n provision of Voice logger facilities at Non-interlocking Level Crossing gates for the safety of road commuters.

He discussed o­n the punctuality of the mail/express train and advised the officials to improve the punctuality by utilizing the optimal track capacity. He also instructed the officials to make meticulous plans to improve average speed, so that the punctuality of the zone in train operations will witness significant improvement. He reviewed o­n the working hours of the running staff and instructed to make advance planning o­n working hours to handle the staff smoothly and ensure safe working conditions.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain also reviewed the progress of the traffic facility works such as provision of additional loop lines for loading and unloading of goods, conversion of halt stations to crossing stations and creation of long loop lines over the zone. He instructed the Divisional Railway Managers to expedite the works to be completed before the target time.

Later, General Manager discussed with the DRMs o­n the status of the o­ngoing development works related to passenger amenities and up gradation works of Amrit stations under Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme etc.
