Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR holds Safety Review Meeting

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway held a detailed review meeting o­n safety of train operations across the zone today i.e., 22nd April, 2024 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Nanded joined the meeting through video conference.

 The General Manager instructed officials to monitor the availability of drinking water at all the stations over the Zone and filling the water in trains in view of summer season. He reviewed the feedback from passengers o­n drinking water availability at railway stations. He also reviewed the occupancy and running of summer special trains and instructed the officials to see the scope for running of additional summer specials.

 Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager instructed to maintain proper worksite precautions at any work spot to avoid unsafe incidents. He also reviewed status of asset failures and any detentions to the train running. He directed the officials for prompt and coordinated action by all branches for speedy rectification of any issues with regard to train running.

 The General Manager advised that regular counseling session along with practical demonstration of safe working practices should be given regularly to field level staff like loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, Traffic Inspectors, Yard Masters, Points-men and other staff members who are involved in the working of train operations. He also discussed o­n the crew working hours and instructed all the Divisional Railway Managers to meticulously plan o­n the proper rest to the crew members. Further, Shri Arun Kumar Jain also reviewed the progress of o­ngoing works pertaining to 3rd line working progress, track renewals, newly commissioned sections. He instructed the officials to speed up the works and complete the works as per time frame.
