                                                         Sr.Divisional Signal & Telecommunication Engineer,

S&T department of Guntur Division is headed by Sr.DSTE assisted by DSTE/SW & ADSTE. S&T department is playing a vital role in day to day working for safe running of trains and ensuring various passenger amenity services to the passengers.

Signalling:The entire Division (55 panel interlocked stations) is provided multiple aspect colour light signalling (MACLS) with LED signals for better visibility, less power consumption and longer life compare to conventional signal lamps.All the stations are having panel interlocking arrangement which has enhanced the safety and reliability of the signaling system substantially. Token less block working is provided in entire Division except two block sections in branch line.

Nallapadu station with solid state interlocking is having facility to operate the signals through VDU (Visual Display Unit), in addition to operation from Panel

Data logger system has been provided for all 55 stations for preventive maintenance and to improve safety of train operations. All the stations in the Division are provided with Invertors/Battery backup to avoid blanking of signals. All stations are provided with maintenance free ring earth and surge protection devices (SPD’s) to prevent damage to equipment due to lightening and surges.

Telecom:Entire Division is provided with 6 quad under ground cable duly removing entire over head alignment. Optical Fiber Cable is provided in Pagidipalli-Guntur-Krishna Canal & Guntur-Tenali sections and the work of OFC laying is in progress in Guntur-Nandyal section which is targeted for completion during the current financial year. Through OFC network (Total 294 KM), control communication to stations, hot line connectivity between station to station, data logger networking to test room, UTS/PRS circuit, FOIS, Rail net connectivity, ISDN exchange connectivity etc. have been provided. Voice logger is provided for both the control boards in the Divisional office .

All important stations, Guntur, Nadikudi, Nalgonda, Nandyal & Nallapadu colony have been provided with ISDN exchanges for railway phone facility.All stations are provided with 25 W VHF sets for communication with adjacent stations, Guard and Driver.BSNL phone with caller ID facility is available at all 55 stations. ART at Guntur station is equipped with WLL exchange of Siemens make and VSAT terminals to help in establishing communication including voice, data and video application from accident site.


                                                                                                    ISDN Exchange

Passenger Amenities:All the A, B & D class stations are provided with microprocessor based PA system and digital clocks.In addition, all the A& B class stations are provided with LED based coach indication boards, trains at a glance & LCD train display boards.LCD based train display boards are provided at all important platforms and waiting halls of Guntur station. Electronic Reservation Chart System provided at Guntur station, is the first of its kind in S.C.Railway.


                   Surveillance System

First of its kind Electronic Notice Board has been provided at Divisional office, through which notices, pictures, scrolling messages, videos etc.can be displayed for the benefit of staff/officers/public.
