ELECTRICAL GENERAL SERVICES


Organization structure

Headed by Sr. DEE/M/HYB and Assisted by ADEE/I/M & ADEE/III/M


Electrical (GS) branch is responsible for maintenance and up-keeping of electrical assets at residential quarters, prominent service buildings, all the stations and LCs in SC-DHNE & SC-MUE sections. In addition to this, coaching maintenance of electrical portion of 357 Non-AC and 102 AC coaches based at KCG depot and Electrical System Training Centre (ESTC) are also under Electrical (GS) organization. 

Role of SSE/Electrical Maintenance:

SSE/EM is responsible for electrical maintenance of all the electrical assets like HT/LT substations, stations, Hospitals, LC gates, yards, Loco Sheds, Goods yards, training institutes and staff quarters. He is also responsible ensuring of uninterrupted power supply to the users in his jurisdiction.

Role of SSE/Domestic Air Conditioning:

SSE/AC is responsible for maintenance and ensuring working of all the Domestic AC units, Water coolers and Refrigerators in service buildings and stations over the division.

Role of SSE/Pumps:

SSE/Pumps is responsible for maintenance and ensuring functioning of all the Pumping installations and DG sets in service buildings, LC gates, stations, training institutes, staff quarters, loco sheds and yards over the division.

Role of SSE/Train Lighting:

SSE/Train Lighting is responsible for maintenance and ensuring working of electrical assets like lighting equipment, Fans and mobile charging sockets, Passenger announcement system etc. in in all Non-AC coaches of primary and secondary maintained trains and passed through trains.

Role of SSE/Air Conditioning:

SSE/AC is responsible for maintenance and ensuring working of electrical assets like AC equipment, lighting equipment, Fans and mobile charging sockets, Passenger announcement system etc. in in all AC coaches of primary and secondary maintained trains and passed through trains.

     Details of Solar Plants Commissioned over the Division:

  • 2.4 MWp rooftop solar plants are commissioned over HYB Division.

Achievements for the FY 2022-23

ØAchieved 1st Prize consecutively for 2nd time for Kacheguda Railway Station in National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA)-2022, organized by Bureau of Energy Efficiency under Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.

ØReceived GOLD Award for Kacheguda Railway Station and SILVER Award for Lekha Bhavan Building in Telangana State Energy Conservation Awards -2022 (TSECA) organized by TSREDCO.

ØBagged “National Energy Leader” Award for Kacheguda Railway Station for achieving “Excellent Energy Efficient Unit” award consecutively for third time and “Energy Efficient unit” award for Hyderabad Bhavan from CII in National Level Excellence in Energy Management – 2022.

ØCommissioned 4 Lifts (KCG-1, KMC-1 & IRISET-2).

ØTotal 340 KWp solar power plants of various capacities were installed at 29 stations and 2 service buildings over the division. 

ØAutomation of Pit lighting of Pit line no. 3 as carried out at KCG yard.

ØAutomation of 14 pumps carried out at KCG jurisdiction.

ØInstalled 15 Nos. solar street lights at MED colony.

Ø1393 Nos. of BLDC fans were provided over the division.

Ø106 Nos. of old non-star rated ACs were replaced with Energy Efficient Inverter AC units.

Ø25 Nos. of occupancy sensors provided at various chambers/waiting halls.

Ø15 Nos. of Energy Efficient Pumps provided in place of conventional pumps.

ØScrap disposed more than 16% of Target in total (59.33 MT of Ferrous and 22.05 MT of Non-Ferrous).

ØNIL - Punctuality Loss of Trains & NIL - enroute detachments on Electrical Account.
