Training Institutes
ESTC/LGD:
Electrical System Training Centre/Lallaguda, popularly named as ESTC is established adjacent to Carriage Workshop, Lallaguda in the year 1990.
ESTC is an Electrical (non-traction) training Centre imparts training to the staff/Supervisors of General Services wing of Electrical department of SC Railway. The General Services training is again sub-divided into courses pertaining to Power-Maintenance, Train-Lighting, Air-Conditioning, LHB, Energy-Efficiency Courses in different modules as per Railway Board with nomenclature of Initial Courses for artisan staff of ITI and Non-ITI streams, Initial Courses for Supervisors (SSE’s/JE’s) , Refresher Courses for artisan staff and for Supervisors (SSE’s/JE’s).
Further, ESTC is also conducting pre-promotional (Pre-selection) courses for Gr.’D’ staff to Gr ‘C’, for Gr ‘C’ staff of Technicians Gr-I & above to JE’s and Gr ‘C’ Staff to Gr ‘B’ periodically as per HQ’s/divisions guide lines.
ESTC is recognized by Railway Board which has nominated CEGE as a training manager working under the control of PCEE. ESTC is headed by Principal who is associated with 4 Instructors and other support staff.
ESTC is also conducting 5 days short term/Special Courses like LHB Course for artisan staff, Energy-Efficiency cum Switchgear Courses for JE’s/SSE’s, and SAKSHAM I&II for JE’s/SSE’s over S.C. Railway.
ESTC is also having Hostel facility for accommodating 52 male trainees with common toilet/wash room facilities in 13 rooms and 14 female trainees with attached toilet/washroom facilities in 2 rooms (with one dormitory).
