SPECIAL FEATURES OF SOUTH CENTRAL RAILWAY IN REGARD TO RAJBHASHA IMPLEMENTATION

 

 

1.This is the only Railway, which covers all the three A, B & C regions as defined in Official Language Rules, 1976.

 

2.On this Railway, the journey of Rajbhasha Hindi also commenced from the date of it's inception i.e., 2ndOctober, 1966, with the Rajbhasha Organisation of only 7 staff, out of which 5 were in Headquarters, one in SC Division and one in Solapur Division. There was no Gazatted post. Today there are 10 Officers and 89 staff in Rajbhasha Organisation.

 

3.This Railway has the distinction of being first Railway in preparing the Reservation Charts in Hindi. Display of Reservation Charts in Hindi was first started in SC and HYB Stations on Indian Railways.

 

4.Issuing of passes in Hindi for the stations situated in A and B regions was first started on this Railway only in 1973.

 

5.Hindi Typing and Stenography Training under departmental arrangement was also started first time on this Railway in 1971 and a book-let was also released for Hindi Stenography Training.

 

6.Casual Hindi Training for the Operational staff was started first time on this Railway in 1975-76, with the result of which many Operational staff were trained in Hindi.

 

7.Table Training was also started first time on this Railway in 1978.
