Covid Containment Initiatives
|
In view of Covid 19 pandemic, shed has initiated several Covid 19 containment initiatives as detailed below:
a)Manufacture and Supply of Sensor based Contactless Hand Sanitizer Dispenser: | 
| · The shed had developed Sensor based Hand Sanitizer Dispenser aimed at completely “contact free” at a cost of Rs 2250/- as against market price of Rs 7830/-. Savings of about 71%. · Total of 182 units supplied catering the needs of HYB division and HQ area establishments including few of SC Division. |
b)Manufacture and Supply of Hand Sanitizer: | 
| ·Shed took initiative in preparing Alcohol based hand Sanitiser to WHO formula and catering the needs of HYB division, NED division and HQ area establishments including few of SC Division. ·Total of 11241 litres of sanitizer supplied. |
c)Manufacture and Supply of Sensor based Contactless Water Dispenser: | 
| ·The shed had developed Sensor based Water Dispenser aimed at completely “contact free” at a cost of Rs 2500/-. This equipment is first of its kind and is yet to be found on the market. This can be fitted to an existing water cooler for automatic dispensing of water ·Shed has so far provided 8 units to CH/LGD and fitted 03 units in shed premises. | d)Manufacture and Supply of Foot Operated Water and Liquid Soap Dispenser with Washbasin:

| ·The shed had developed foot operated Water and liquid soap dispenser with washbasin aimed at completely “contact free ”provided at Rail Nilayam and Hyderabad Bhavan with the help of Engineering staff. ·Manufactured and supplied 12 Nos. ·One number foot operated Hand Sanitiser provided at DLS/MLY shed control. |
e)Manufacture and Supply of Foot Operated Water Dispenser Kiosks: | 
| ·The shed had developed foot operated Water with washbasins Kiosks aimed at completely “contact free ”provided at DLS/MLY. ·Manufactured and provided 12 Nos. |
f)Manufacture and Provision of Sensor based Contactless Hand Sanitizer Dispenser Kiosks: | 
| ·Shed has developed Sensor based contactless hand sanitizer dispenser kiosks – 2 Nos and provided at the entrance of DLS/MLY. |
g)Manufacture and Provision of Ultraviolet Disinfection Chamber:
| 
| ·DLS MLY developed an “ultra violet disinfection chamber” for ensuring disinfection of tools and Files from Covid-19”. ·The total cost of the equipment works out to be Rs. 850/- whereas if purchased from trade it is priced at Rs 7000/-onwards. Savings to the tune of 88% ·Provided 03 Nos at DLS/MLY |
h)Manufacture and Supply of Face Masks:

| · During the lockdown period, there was a lot of shortage for face masks in the market. As such shed staff along with their family members produced around 3000 face masks. · Each of the shed staff have been provided with two facemasks and the rest were supplied to division and HQs. |
i)Supply of Disinfectant (Sodium Hypochlorite): | 
| ·Diesel Loco Shed Moulali is preparing sodium hypochlorite solution and spraying all of shed premises for disinfection. ·All locos and DEMUs cabs are being disinfected by use of recommended chemicals before cranking each day ·Shed has also issued about 1000 lts of concentrated disinfectant to HQs and divisional units. |
j)Assistance to ADRM/O/HYB in developing “RailBot”:
 
Shed supervisor and staff assisted Sri Hem Singh Banoth, ADRM/O/HYB who developed “Railbot”. This bot is presently being utilized in the COVID ward of Central Hospital, Lalaguda, Secunderabad.
k) Disinfection of Shed Premises, Locos and DEMU Trains - Ensuring disinfection of coaches, DPCs and locos with recommended disinfection as per prescribed frequency.
- Covid Care Posters in Hindi, English and Telugu pasted at each doorway of DEMU coaches homed at DLS/MLY.
- Sanitization of coaches and locos including shed premises being ensured with Sodium Hypochlorite.
