ACHIEVEMENTS/GOOD WORK DONE
vElectric Loco maintenance: Diesel Loco Shed Guntakal has trained staff and Supervisors at ELS/BZA for maintenance of Electric Locomotives. Shed has been successfully carrying out IA/IB/IC schedules of Electric Locomotives.
vDEMU Maintenance: Diesel Loco Shed Guntakal has been carrying out Trip schedule maintenance of DEMU.
vOHE Tower car maintenance: Diesel Loco Shed Guntakal has trained staff and supervisors for AOH of 4 wheeler and 8 wheeler Tower wagon cars. Shed has been carrying out the maintenance.
vSPMRV: Diesel Loco Shed Guntakal has also been maintaining SPMRV.
vFabrication of Model Steam Loco:
DLS/GTL has fabricated a MODEL STEAM LOCO in-house which is located in front of New station building. The Steam Loco is an exact replica (1:2) of original steam Loco YP2204 displayed in UBL DRM office. The model has added beauty to the new Station Building of Guntakal station. In recognition of the Good work done, Rs.25000/- was awarded by Chairman/Railway Board during his visit on 23.11.2018.
vOverhauling of Old Model Traction Generator (Make M/s. GE, Type: GT 740PBI):
While performing M24 schedule on Loco No.113/WDS6 of M/s RITES, under deposit works, this Loco was having a major defect of flash over in Traction Generator (TG). The commutator was badly damaged. The TG was old model (Make M/s. GE, Type: GT 740PBI) and Shed do not overhaul TG. GOC workshop was requested to undertake total overhauling of TG but GOC expressed unwillingness to overhaul this old model. Diesel Loco Shed Guntakal took the challenge of overhauling the TG and has been succeeded to overhaul. The major repair to the commutator like polishing, groove cutting, brazing of bus bar connection plates and varnishing were carried out by Shed. The insulation resistance of Stator as well as Armature of the TG were improved from 0 MΩ to 50 mΩ.\
