ELECTRICAL TRACTION DISTRIBUTION ORGANISATION OF GUNTUR DIVISION INTRODUCTION: First electrification work in Guntur division was completed in KCC-GNT-TEL section in the year 1989, which was in BZA division at that time. Later, other sections vizGNT-NLPD DN LINE, GNT-MAG DN LINE, MAG-KCC DN lineetc were commissioned in different phases. Further, NLPD – NDL & NLPD – PGDP section including VNUP-JNPD & NDKD-MCLA sections electrification works carried out by RE organization. Commercial operations with electric traction started in NLPD-NDL section on 29.03.2018 and in NLPD-PGDP section on 01.09.2019. In TEL-RAL section, Electrification works are under progress. The total electrified section of the division is now expanded to 868.8TKM against 122.7 TKM during April 2017. 25KV single phase power supply for electric traction is derived from 8 Traction Sub-stations located “en-route” at NLPD, SYM, GJJ, YADA, NDL, SAP, MRGA& RMNP. APTRANSCO & TSTRANSCO are supplying power at 132KV from their grid to respective Traction Sub-stations located in the states of Andhra Pradesh &Telangana. The division consists of 5 TRD depots. The TRD depots carry-out preventive maintenance of the traction installations i.e. the wires over the track from which the Locomotive pantograph draws the current&maintain the Railway traction sub-stations which feed the OHE with 25KV A.C. Power.
- The PSI and OHE activities are monitored by the Traction Power Controller (TPC), who monitors the voltages of the system and advises the Section Traffic Controller to regulate trains when there is bunching of trains leading to low voltage and stalling of trains.
- The equipment at traction sub-stations and switching stations is controlled remotely by TPC.
MODEL OHE at TRD depots ØModel OHE of 130 mtrs erected at Skill Development Center, NLPD for GNT depot duly incorporating Section Insulator, Arthur Flurry Make PTFE, IOL, Turn Out, Platform Mast, Isolator etc. Developed PSI test bench to train the staff regarding testing and maintenance of PSI equipment. OHE & PSI model rooms are developed for imparting training to staff on OHE & PSI.OHE & PSI boards were provided to impart training to staff at skill development centre/NLPD.    | |
